Camaleón chronicles a day in the life of a nightclub bouncer and his symbiotic relationship with a peregrine falcon with whom he cannot live without—as if it were an anxiolytic drug to face reality. The video follows him over the course of twenty-four hours, from his shift at a nightclub in the city until he emerges at dawn to take the falcon out hunting in the outskirts of Mexico City. The protagonist subtly explores the parallels between the animal instinct to kill and the implications of this act when it involves a human being. Camaleón elicits a complex dialogue about conventional dichotomies, particularly pushing the boundaries of the civilized and the untamed, the predator and the prey.
